The Gardens
Entry is via a discrete circular gravel driveway that leads through large trees to a large colonnaded portico entrance which overlooks a tiered water fountain in the front garden.
The beautiful ornamental gardens are understood to be originally designed by revered garden designers Claude and Isobel Crowe of Berrima Bridge Nursery and contain an impressive variety of trees, plants and scrubs including a mature 15 metre Oak believed to be amongst the best examples of its type in the region.
The Location
Burradoo is a suburb of Bowral, in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia, in Wingecarribee Shire.
The village of Burradoo is well known as one of the blue ribbon areas of the Southern Highlands, due to the fact that it is home to many historic manor houses and large modern architectural homes, and for this reason is often compared to parts of England. Burradoo comes from an Aboriginal phrase meaning many Brigalow trees.
