Time Out reveals the top 50 coolest neighbourhoods in the world and we are delighted to see that The Waterfront in Hobart makes the top ten:

  1. Arrios, Lisbon
  2. Shimokitazawa, Tokyo
  3. Onikan, Lagos
  4. Wedding, Berlin
  5. Historic Filipinotown, Los Angeles
  6. The Waterfront, Hobart
  7. Strasbourg-Saint-Denis, Paris
  8. Astoria, New York
  9. Embajadores, Madrid
  10. Pilsen, Chicago

In the heart of The Waterfront, is this state-of-the-art penthouse at the eastern end of the Hobart CBD.

Occupying a quarter of the two top floors of the architecturally designed round building, the apartment has views beyond the city to Mount Wellington, sweeping over the waterfront to the hills of Sandy Bay and Mount Nelson, and across the river to the Eastern Shore.

The building has a covered pedestrian walkway with a security gate from Collins Street and secure under-cover parking from Sun Street, both accesses meeting at the central foyer and lifts. The grounds of the building have been attractively landscaped to enhance the city site.

The spacious apartment with generous extra high ceilings is split over two levels with the entrance being on the lower level and the sleeping accommodation above.

The foyer opens onto an expansive living and dining area with an open study at the rear and a stylish, elegant kitchen with quality, contemporary appliances. The quadrant shape of the apartment creates a sense of space and light as the full-length windows curve around the room, and sliding glass doors open onto the wide terrace. At the western end of the terrace is a well-appointed outdoor entertaining area.

Stairs lead up to the three bedrooms, each of which is positioned to take advantage of both the views and the second terrace that curves around the upper level.

A large storage room and two car spaces can be found at ground level, and a well-equipped gym and swimming pool, strictly for residents' use, are located on the lower levels of the complex.
