_Crown Sydney at One Barangaroo: the countdown begins
With the December opening of the eagerly anticipated luxury resort and home to the most outstanding private residences at Crown Sydney fast approaching, we take a look at how the ambitious project is shaping up.
Comprising of 349 rooms, 14 bars and fine dining restaurants and a plethora of indulgent wellness and leisure spaces, the third property for Crown Resorts, Crown Towers Sydney, is well on track for completion in December with the hotel and its restaurants set to open first in mid-December, with the Residences to follow in February.

Earlier in the year, the project celebrated its penultimate construction milestone: topping out – the pouring of its final floor on level 71, signifying the completion of its vertical construction.
Since then, it has been full steam ahead with works on site intensely focused on the advancement of the higher residential floors, alongside the interior fit out of the luxury hotel rooms and villas, recreational areas such as the resort’s two swimming pools, harbourside tennis court, wedding canopy, wharf and creation of Waterman’s Cove.

Situated on the western side of One Barangaroo, Waterman’s Cove is a 9,500 square meter cutaway and public amphitheater, connecting the current pedestrian strip of Barangaroo Avenue to the pontoon and 30-metre bookable wharf, which is now open for the general public to enjoy.

Another recent exciting construction moment is the placement of a 20-tonne steel leaf structure, which was lifted atop the 275-metre tower to complete the twisting petal design, which can be seen in the project’s latest construction film.

The final piece of glass in the tower’s iconic curved 10,000-piece façade will be set in place in mid-October, while the property will see 270 native trees and exotic plants from nurseries around Australia join the budding shrubs and abundant greenery already making themselves at home along Waterman’s Cove, part of the comprehensive landscaping underway to match the local surrounds whilst emulating a lush Balinese-inspired oasis.

After more than 45 months of construction, this represents the final leg in the journey to delivering Australia’s premier luxury resort and the country’s first truly integrated hotel-branded residence, ready for occupation in Q1 2021.
